Factory, where he developed and oversaw the label’s entire audio, live concert DVD, and comedy DVD release schedule, working with dozens of heritage artists ranging from pop icons William Shatner and the Bangles to Grammy legends Herb Alpert and Solomon Burke.

Shawn also released his own album “Thank You Shirl-ee May” on the Shout! Factory label. During this time, Amos worked with Shout’s ownership to create a digital strategy that led to the formation of the standalone digital media company, GetBack. Aside from steering GetBack’s popular content, Amos served as the face of the company, hosting its flagship video program “Retro Minute” which received 230 million impressions monthly via out-of- home screens at Wal-Mart check out, supermarket check out, gas stations, coffee houses, and bookstores.

Previously, as an A&R executive at Rhino Entertainment, Shawn steered editorial content for the reissue label’s deluxe anthologies and box sets, hiring award-winning entertainment critics, essayists and authors. He then went on to produce single and various artists collections from such heritage musical acts as INXS, The Sugarhill Gang and Quincy Jones (for whom Amos later ran the Quincy Jones Listen Up Foundation).

Shawn is the son of Wally Amos, founder of the Famous Amos brand, and the first African-American talent agent for the William Morris Agency. Growing up in the colorful Hollywood landscape inspired Shawn to pursue a career in film (he attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts) then music and digital media. He is currently writing his first book, a memoir titled “Cookies & Milk: Scenes From a ’70s Hollywood Childhood.” Shawn sits on the Board of Trustees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and serves as secretary on the Los Angeles Board of Governors of the Recording Academy.

Monty Miranda

Our Team
<guid

He began his post high school studies at the Air Force Academy and after six challenging months and one easy decision; he resigned from the Academy and enrolled at the University of Colorado to study filmmaking and journalism.

Monty’s first experience as a Director was with the unauthorized use of the family 8 mm movie camera at age eight; which ignited his passion for filmmaking. Upon graduating Miranda started his own production company, Incite Films. Through that Denver based company Monty has directed hundreds of national television commercials for a variety of clients ranging from McDonalds to TIVO. Incite Films also created the national television series Twitch that ran for two seasons and Monty directed.

Monty’s work is known for its diverse use of music and keen sense of comedy. The Cannes Film Festival, the CLIO’s, the Effies, the Addy’s, BBC’s Most Outrageous Commercials and FOX’s World’s Funniest Commercials have recognized Monty Miranda’s work. His award winning political spots have been featured in the national press. CNN, the LA Times and the Washington Post praised the ads for their innovative approach and contribution to a landslide upset victory by brew master restauranteur and political neophyte John Hickenlooper, helping him to win the Denver mayor’s office by the largest margin in history.

Monty’s feature film directorial debut, Skills Like This, won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the SXSW Film Festival. The film continued on to receive “Best of the fest” honors at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Official closing night selection at the Jacksonville Film Festival where it also received the Jury Prize for Best American Feature and a Free Spirit Award Nomination at the Warsaw International Film Festival.

Monty Miranda currently lives with his wife Molly and is in post production on his sophomore feature.

Vanessa Atkins

Our Team
<guid

A rare campaign win landed her a job as a state senator’s aide in Nebraska, where she regularly liaised with the public on such critical concerns as “Why do I have to wear shoes in Olive Garden?” and “Why isn’t everything better?”

This naturally led to a career in the entertainment industry, specifically a music talent agency in Los Angeles, where since 1999 she has haughtily dismissed bands like your brother’s friend’s girlfriend’s, so don’t even ask.

In 2008, Christine combined her love of undergarments and politics to found Retro Campaigns, a t-shirt company whose designs recall America’s political history. This takes up much of her free time and a not-inconsiderable portion of her apartment.

Christine also watches a lot of television. Like, a lot of television. She should really be embarrassed about how much television she watches, but like most children of the ’80s, she’s immune to shame.
